Chatting with Picasso?! My AI Adventure

Sadly, this is my final task and experience related post for this semester but don’t worry we will see each other next term!! 😁 I will also write a see-you-soon post but now it is time for sharing my experience with Magic School AI.

    It was one of the easiest and fun tasks until now. I talked with Picasso! 😆 I mostly asked about his famous painting, Guernica. I used the character chat bot of Magic School AI, an AI for educators and students, and it was awesome.💕 It gives you the opportunity to learn very much by discussing with people like important characters, historical figures, and so on. Well, as you can deduct, I had to speak with a character and write a report about it.

    After I wrote the report, to get feedback I used the feedback tool from the same AI. It is very helpful in my opinion because it gives you a detailed feedback on your writing and also it is programmed to just give feedback not to rewrite your paragraphs. This is a great thing because it makes the person/ learner analyze the feedback and use his/her own brain to rewrite :)) For example, it told me that my I had a few unclear sentences, so I changed those parts by myself and I think it got better!

    In the future, I can totally see myself using similar tools in my own classroom. Maybe I will assign different characters to groups and ask students to prepare interviews, or even role-plays based on their AI chats. We could have a “Historical Talk Show” where Shakespeare meets Einstein and they talk about TikTok or something wild like that 😂 I think it would be creative and fun!!  because I think students would love the idea of chatting with a historical figure.

    However,  AI in language learning has good and bad sides too. It helps students be creative, learn from their mistakes, and have more fun. But sometimes, students may use it too much and stop thinking on their own. So, as teachers, we need to find a good balance and we must inform students about AI, consequences, and other related things.
