CapCut Crashed, I Did Too
Hi there, beautiful people! ๐✨
I know this is the second post of the day, but HEY, what can I do if we have 2 assignments with the same due date? Now, refresh your popcorn, sit back, and read this one too :)
(pretty please)
Then we decided to do a PSA, and because it had to be about an issue relevant to Turkey, we created one about bread waste in Turkey. We spent 8 hours nonstop creating it. (probably even more, I didn’t take a look at the clock). We were exhausted at the end ๐ ( maybe because we were surviving with 2 coffees and 2 pieces of cake each). Plus, the day before we met to do it, I was sick and had some problems with my stomach ( don’t worry, I am better now), but I still went to the Gรถztepe campus and helped as much as I could my mates. ๐ช The process was so complicated. Everything was so chaotic. I didn’t like it at all. ๐ We were so angry. The editing program crashed, we didn’t find photos easily, when recording the script, the project got on our nerves that much that we were laughing (I almost cried), and we couldn't even read anything correctly, we had to take the recordings several times. Plus, our opinions and ideas were most of the time different on everything, so agreeing on something was very difficult. (pray for me so that no assignment will be in a group of 3. It is not about my friends, I love them so much๐, they are creative and very skilled, but it is hard to decide on anything when we are 3, never mind.) After many hours of editing on CapCut Pro (Baran, you saved the day with your editing skills, thank you again bro๐ค), we managed to finish the PSA. It turned out very nice, in my opinion. I noticed after uploading the video on YouTube that we forgot to put one part of the references at the end, but it was not a big deal; our friend quickly added it and re-uploaded the video. Thank you, God, it is over. ๐
Will I give a task like this to my future students? NO. I don’t think I will. Maybe just with young learners. But for advanced students, I couldn't see how this, I mean, creating a PSA, can improve their English. To be real, they will probably do the research in their native language, they will even use AI to do research. ๐ The only part where English plays a role is when they create a script, of course, if they are honest and do it themselves. Most probably they will also get anrgy while doing the task, like us. Of course I don’t say that this type of task doesn’t improve any of the skills of the learner. ☝ For example, when they create a story, their critical thinking skills are fostered, their creativity, editing skills improve, and so on. I think creating a story option has the most effect on enhancing English, especially for young learners.
I forgot to mention that personally, I learned a lot about the bread waste. The number of loaves wasted, the economic aspect of it, and many other points made me really re-think about my own habits and the poeple around me. Now, you, my dear reader, please watch our PSA and don’t forget my brilliant people:
Don’t waste the bread—use it!
Be Aware: The change starts with you!
(clik here for the video if you want to wacth it on YouTube)
P.S. Sorry for pouring my heart out like that, but I really needed to :3
