One Last Goodbye (For Now)
Hi there my lovely and brilliant readers! 💖
And here we are—my final post of the term. Honestly, this course has been a really positive experience overall. One of its biggest strengths was that it was always up-to-date and practical. We constantly learned new things, especially about integrating technology and AI into language teaching, and it never felt repetitive or boring.
That said, the main weakness for me was definitely timing. Some tasks required more time and mental energy than we could realistically give during such a busy semester. I think assignments given before midterms should have longer deadlines—not just two weeks, but at least three. When midterms are approaching, the last thing anyone wants to do is start a heavy assignment. Also, not every task was meant for group work; some assignments would have been much easier and more efficient as pair or individual tasks. Other than these points, the course itself was not difficult but actually, it was quite enjoyable.
In general, I found the course content easy to follow, but managing deadlines beside other courses made certain tasks more challenging. My least favorite task was the data-driven language task but not because it wasn’t useful, but mainly because of timing and workload issues. On the other hand, my favorite task was the AR/VR one. Even though it required effort of finding videos, visuals, and organizing everything, I think it was the task where we produced our best and most visually satisfying work.
For students who will take this course next year: you’ll take it whether you want to or not 😅 so be ready for the general chaos and intensity of assignments. Time management is key, and finding good groupmates will save your life.
Professionally, this course helped me not only learn a lot about technology and AI, but also pushed me into self-discovery. While completing the tasks, we learned how to use editing tools and digital platforms on our own, which definitely contributed to my development as a future English teacher.
See you next yeat—or maybe not—but wherever we go, we keep learning, growing, and creating. ✨
And btw - I wish you a happy new year ! 💝
